They’re the fin-tastic couple that runs our Cedar Crest site.
Aaron (right) joined the family almost 6 years ago. Two years later he persuaded his wife Heather to join our team too — and we’re so grateful he did!
Cedar Crest is one of the most difficult fish farms to run because it gets everything mother nature throws at her — the ice, the warm water, and all the leaves. Plus it’s where most of our spawning and early rearing takes place.
Aaron has his hands full overseeing operations, while Heather focuses her attention on managing the millions of trout babies in the hatchery. They both come together every Wednesday in the “love shack” for spawning days.
Our dad always said you can tell how successful a fish farmer is going to be based on their life story — the wilder the better. And Aaron and Heather sure fit the bill with jobs like veneer slicer, landscaper, server, auto parts maker, personal support worker, and many fun stories along the way!
When they aren’t fish farming, they are both VERY avid hunters and fishers. They spend a lot of their time bow hunting, tending deer plots and heading north for big fishing trips. And they’re always accompanied by their best companion Charlie 🐕 (whose mother Annie also lives on the farm!).
We can honestly say that Springhills and Cedar Crest would not be the same without their jokes, stories, care (and some blood, sweat and tears!). Thanks Aaron and Heather
