Evan’s one of our young superstars at Springhills.
He’s been with the family for over two years and is a man of many fish talents.
He’s worked at every farm site, helped rebuild our new recirculating hatchery, has mastered the art of spawning trout (no easy feat!) and also works in the plant filleting and packing your fish!
But in his words, his “favourite thing to do is feed fish. I love to interact with the fish and see their behaviour. Understanding their behaviour and what it means is very satisfying!”
In this photo, he’s holding a six-year-old trout broodstock at our Cedar Crest site. The spawning team collects eggs every Wednesday for 9 months of the year.
Evan said his career was “always going to be fish. I wasn’t sure how, but I knew I wanted to work with fish.”
